Federal medical centre Abeokuta commissions multi-million dollar world class hospital equipment

The Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta has commissioned multi-million dollars world class hospital equipment and consumables, donated by United States of Ameica(USA) Project, which was facilitated by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB)

Penpushing reports that, the ceremony was held on Friday at Muhammadu Buhari International Conference Centre located within the premises of the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital

The equipment includes theater beds, wheel chairs, electrical emergency beds, neuro surgery beds, orthopedic surgery packs, centrifuge machines, microscopes, adult ventilators and cystoscopy scope set among others.

Penpushing further reports that, Medical Director of the institution, Pro Adewale Musa- Olomu, in his welcome speech expressed appreciations to the donor agency, and facilitator, with assurance that the equipment will be judiciously used.

The Medical Director emphasized that, the equipment and other medical materials were acquired for the benefits of the patients, adding that the authorities would ensure that all the equipment will be circulated across the hospital department for patients.

Penpushing also reports that, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the facilitating agency, Pro  Ishaq Oloyede, expressed delight that Federal Medical Cente, Abeokuta was one of the twelve carefully selected health facilities across the six geopolitical zones of the country to benefit the gestures.

The examination board boss advised the center to make judicious use of the equipment with upmost care while urging individuals and corporate bodies to imbibe the spirit of altruism by dedicating themselves to the promotion of the best interest of humanity.

Penpushing further reports that in his good will message, Pro Da-Silva Yusuf the Chief Medical Director and board member of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State congratulated the leadership of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta on the feat

The Chief Medical Director represented by Dr. Adewunmi Alayaki, who was a former National General Secretary of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), pointed out that, the hospital administration led by Prof Musa-Olomu has recorded number of achievements in the last five years of the administration

Penpushing also reports that, he congratulated the entire workforce of the institution for being one of the recipients of medical equipment donated by America project, and applauded Prof Ishaq Oloyede Oloyede for using his good offices to help in getting the equipment for 12 federal health institutions in the country despite being in the education sector.

The Medical Expert noted that University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital was the first to receive and commission similar medical equipment donated to the institution in June 17th, 2022, just as he advised all the health workers that’ll be using the equipment to make judicious use of the them so as to give maximum care to the patients.

Penpushing reports that, other notable dignitaries who spoke at the event include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was represented by his wife, Chief (Mrs) Bola Obasanjo and Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

The other dignitaries at the event were: Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(Founder Penpushing Media), Dr Abolurin(former Commandant General Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps), Chief Lai Labode, Niyi Ajibola(Commandant, Ogun State Command Nigeria Security and Civil Defence) among others.
