
Leading Osun state governorship aspirant, Dideolu Falobi commends Ajibola Basiru for withdrawal from race
The leading governorship aspirant under All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of Osun State 2026 poll, Engr Dideolu Falobi has commended National Secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Basiru for what he described as a rare display of statesmanship, discipline and party loyalty following his decision to withdraw from the governorship race in the state.
Penpushing reports that the commendation was contained in a statement by Falobi’s media office, describing the action of Basiru as a clear demonstration of commitment to national duty and the stability of the party.

The renowned Engineer pointed out that the office of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a strategic position that requires focus, sacrifice, and undivided loyalty to the growth of the party nationwide.
“Senator Ajibola Basiru has shown uncommon maturity and statesmanship by prioritising the stability and strength of our great party at the national level over personal political ambition. This is the kind of leadership example that inspires trust and confidence in our political system,” Falobi stated.
Penpushing further reports that in contrast, Falobi noted that while every Nigerian has a constitutional right to seek elective office, it is important that such ambitions are pursued in a manner that does not disrupt critical national responsibilities.

The governorship aspirant, a notable member of Penpushing platform referenced the resignation of Hon. Oyetola Oyebamiji (Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) to join the Osun state governorship race, describing the development as a matter that should be left to the judgment of party stakeholders and the Nigerian public.
