EXCLUSIVE: AMOSUN CANDIDATES SEEK ALTERNATIVE PLATFORM TO CONTEST 2019 ELECTION

In view of these, it was learnt that, the aspirants already on the lists of the Accord Party, were just there as a strategy to deceive people but would be replaced by the aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants, at the appropriate time.

Penpushing recalled that, the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted parallel primaries, which produced two separate lists of candidates; with one belonging to Governor Amosun, and the other belong to the other stakeholders of the party.

The stakeholders had alleged Governor Amosun of trying to impose a candidate for the elections, which was vehemently fought, and at the end of the day, the National leadership of the party, based on the final decision of the National Working Committee (NWC), rejected list from the Amosun’s camp.

Penpushing reports further that, Prince Dapo Abiodun, said to be the aspirant of the stakeholders was announced as the party Governorship Candidate, against Adekunle  Akinlade, the Governor’s choice

But in spite of the National Working Committee (NWC), pronouncement, Governor Ibikunle Amosun during the Saturday congress of the National and State Assemblies, still insisted that the party’s candidate is Akinlade, boasting that, he (Akinlade) would be his successor.

Penpushing contacted, the State Secretary of the Accord Party, Alhaji Saula Adegunwa  on phone, but claimed that he could not hear what our reporter was saying, and requested for a text message, which was forwarded to him for his reaction on the development, but didn’t reply, and even afterward when a phone call was  repeatedly put to him, he declined to pick phone.
