EX-MINISTER, SARAFA MOURNS MAFE, FORMER OGUN ASSEMBLY MAJORITY LEADER
The former Minister of Steel, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Isola has lamented the loss of the former Majority Leader of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Yinka Mafe who died on his birthday, describing him as a forthright, urbane, dependable, loyal, brilliant, compassionate, educated, highly exposed, man of the people.
Penpushing reports that, Sarafa in a tribute, noted that the mystery about death is not knowing when, where and how the inevitable would happen, adding,’ Yorubas, in our rich cultural heritage capture it as ‘ Oku n sukun oku, akasoleri n sukun ara won’. Literally espousing the inevitability of death. We all attend burials but the sermons are usually lost on us’,Sarafa stated.
‘The essence of life and death is in the motto of Boys Scout – Be prepared. We should be prepared to die the next second. Life’s journey can be likened to a bus trip where passengers embark and disembark at their respective destinations. Death is certainly the end of human life’, the former Minister said.
‘It’s also the commencement of the life hereafter. The major religions lay emphasis on the life hereafter. Asiwaju Yinka Mafe lived a good life. He was a forthright, urbane, dependable, loyal, brilliant, compassionate, educated, highly exposed, man of the people’.
‘He was popularly elected as a member of Ogun state House of Assembly representing Sagamu 1 state constituency. He diligently served Ogun state by stabilizing the legislature as the Majority leader during his terms’,Sarafa noted.
‘The life hereafter is also seen in the various empowerment and people oriented programmes across Remoland, particularly in Sagamu. He would be remembered by the people of Sagamu, Remoland and the entire Ogun for his selfless service and love for the people. We have lost a leader, and one of our greater tomorrow.
