Ex-convict in military uniform arrested while soliciting for release of suspect

An ex convict, Segun Ogundeji has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for parading himself as a soldier, and audaciously visited a police station to solicit the release of a suspect.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect had approached the Divisional Police Office of Sango-Ota Divisional Headquarters dressed in army camouflage uniform.

The police spokesman added that, the suspect was there, when he met an Airforce Officer Cpl John Temitope who accused him(Ogundeji) of failure to give him official compliment, as a result of which quarrel ensued between them.

Penpushing further reports that,  at that stage, the Divisional Police Officer, Godwin Idehai, took time to interrogate the duo, a development which led to discovery of impersonation by Ogundeji, who was subsequently arrested.

The Command Public Relations Officer said in the course of background check on  Ogundeji, it was discovered that he has once been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction for impersonation.

Penpushing also reports that, the Commissioner of Police, Edward  Ajogun has ordered a full investigation into the past activities of the suspect, with the view to charge him to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
