ELECTORAL COMMISSION HOLDS SUPPLIMENTARY RE-RUN ELECTION IN THREE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS IN OGUN

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),Ogun State  has disclosed that it is going to conduct supplementary re-run election in thirteen polling units spread across three local government areas of the State.

Penpushing reports that, Head of Department Voter Education and Publicity, Adenike  Tadese made this known in a statement, adding that the three Federal Constituencies include; Ijebu North East,(11 Units) Ijebu Ode (1 Unit) and Odogbolu (1 Unit).

The statement said the re-run shall hold on Saturday, January 25, between the hours of 8.00am and 2.00pm,explaining that this was in accordance with the provisions of section 30 (3) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended)

‘This is to formally notify the General Public that INEC, Ogun State shall embark on Supplementary Re-Run Election as ordered by the Appeal Court in thirteen (13) Polling Units spread over three Local Government Areas in the State’,Tadese said.

‘In accordance with the provisions of section 30 (3) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) which states that notice of Re-Run Election should be published not later than fourteen (14) days before the day appointed for holding of an election’.

‘Under this Act notice is hereby given that House of Representative Election shall hold in these           three Federal Constituencies: Ijebu North East,(11 Units) Ijebu Ode (1 Unit) and Odogbolu (1 Unit) The election shall hold on Saturday 25th January 2020. Time – 8:00am to 2:00pm’

Penpushing further reports that,she stated further that, to this end, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Ogun State on Friday 10th January 2020, has displayed at the State Office of the Commission and the Three (3) Local Government Offices notice of Elections, calling on the general public to note.
