ELECTIONS COMMENCE IN ENUGU AS SCHEDULED BY ELECTORAL COMMISSION
However, on Saturday, it was observed that elections started in the state as planned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with officials and ad hoc staff arriving most polling centres as early as 7:30 am.
Penpushing further reports that, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Emeka Ononammadu had on Friday assured that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch free exercise throughout the period.
The Commissioner said that both sensitive and non sensitive materials had been distributed to various locations, noting that nothing will stop the conduct of the elections. However, as at the time of filing this report,the state is generally peaceful and voters were seen trooping out to excercise their franchise.
