Ekiti state university vice chancellor bags award of integrity

The Center for Ethics and Self Value Orientation of Nigeria (CESVO), has honored the Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Professor Edward Olanipekun with a gold medal of University Administrator of Nigeria.

Penpushing reports that, the largest anti corruption body in  Nigeria bestowed the award to the Vice Chancellor at a ceremony held at the university, and also include awards of Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION) and a Certificate of Excellence in Ethical Leadership that are exclusively reserved for incorruptible public servants in Nigeria.

The Executive Director of the Organization, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, in his speech explained that the body is an Abuja based international organization committed to exposing corruption and promoting excellence in the public service sector.

Penpushing further reports that, he said the body had spread to the 774 local government areas of the country, adding that the centre is also committed to monitoring integrity, selfless service, commitment to quality assurance, self-discipline and ethical uprightness in all work places in Nigeria.

The organization in similar vein, named Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, as the first university among the South West Universities and second among the top 10 with highest ethically responsible universities in Nigeria.

Penpushing also reports that Yakubu described the Vice Chancellor as a man of integrity who has been secretly investigated and confirmed as an upright public servant with sound ethical value, and promised that centre would later engage the staff and students of the university in series of training very soon.

The Vice Chancellor, in response after receipt of the award in his office, thanked the organization for the honour done him and the university, assuring the organization that his administration was committed to repositioning the university to greater heights.

Penpushing reports that, Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs of the university, Bode Olofinmuagun, in a statement said other principal officers of the University were also given Certificates of Ethics Compliance at the ceremony.
