EGBAS SET TO EMPOWER YOUTHS IN SKILL ACQUISITION, SAYS ALAKE OF EGBALAND

The monarch also commended the Ogun State Government over some completed and ongoing projects in transforming the state, stressing that, there have being appreciable development since the incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Amosun took over power.

The Chairman of  Lisabi Festival Committee, Chief Rasheed Raji earlier in his opening speech rolled out programmes of the event, which include; booming of guns at Olumo rock, cleaning of each palace ground by youths, public mobilization of women round the city, quiz competition at Centenary Hall and football competitions.

On Tuesday, February, he said, there would be opening exhibition, traditional Ayo game competition, distribution of prizes, debate competition, children social programme and musical fiesta by Egba youths ,while on Wednesday seminar on  promoting youth empowerment, and football competition final as well as presentation of trophies will take place.

Raji further said, on Thursday, there will be procession to Lisabi forest by traditional rulers in the land, chiefs, eminent personalities, youths and others, as well as visit to the hero of the year, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

The committee boss also said, programme of event for Friday will include, visit to Olumo rock where a prayer is expected to take place atop of the rock, and rendering of Egba anthem, as well as cultural display, and follow with  Jumat Service.

He said grand finale will take place on Saturday with Ogun State Governor,Ibikunle Amosun as Special Guest, while at the event there will be  Woro dance, cultural displays, homage by clubs, associations chiefs and other groups, adding that presentation of bursary award by Egba National Association, USA/Canada will hold , while on Sunday,a thanksgiving service to round off the ceremony will take place at Cathedral of St Peter, Ake, Abeokuta
