Egba Christian chiefs propose N5million cenotaph in egbaland

The Egba Christian Chiefs have disclosed plans towards building a cenotaph estimated to cost the sum of N5million with the project proposed to be launch during the Okenla festival scheduled to hold in September.

Penpushing reports that, the made this known by the Chairman of the cenotaph committee,   Chief Abiola Popoola during the annual thanksgiving service of the Christians body held at the Egba Christian Chief Hall located in Itori-Odo, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The committee Chairman who doubles as Agbaakin of Egba Christian Chiefs further in his address solicited support of all and sundry towards the project timely completion, expressing optimism that the project will see light of the day

Penpushing further reports that, the Balogun of Egba Christian Chiefs, Balogun Ayodeji Okenla in his own remarks appreciated them for their unflinching support despite challenges, just as he tasked them not to relent in the propagation of Christianity in Egbaland where the first church was built in 1860.

The Balogun who warned members against involving in secret cult urged members to support the construction of a cenotaph project, while in their separate remarks, Baale of Egba Christian Chiefs, Chief Tunji Falola,  Ekerin, Chief Olufunmilayo Gbogboade,   Lupona, Chief Doja Adewolu and the Jaguna,  Chief Akinola Adeniji appreciated God for sparing the lives of members beyond 2019 in good health, harping on the activeness of members in the propagation of Christ.

Penpushing also reports that, the Iyalode of Yoruba who is the Otun Oyalode of Egba Christian Chiefs, Chief(Mrs) Alaba Lawson on her part  said more evangelism is expected from the group in 2020 as it just finished a 7 day crusade, lauding members for being a formidable force in the work of Christ.

Meanwhile, the event which saw the convergence of the Chiefs and members on the Egba Christians Chiefs hall situated in, Itori-Oke, enabled them renewed commitment to the progress of Christianity in Egbaland.
