Easter celebration: Achudume charges Nigerians to embrace sacrificial love

The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume has charged Nigerians to be passionate about Godly activities and make undiluted love their watchword as Jesus Christ did on the Cross.

Penpushing reports that Achudume gave the charge in his Easter message while preaching about the significance of Easter to humanity at the church headquarters located along Abeokuta-Ajebo road, in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital

The clergyman pointed out that Easter is all about Jesus Christ’s passion, crucifixion and death, and therefore counselled people to guide against hate speech that can lead to anxiety, depression and destruction of lives and property.

Penpushing further reports that Achudume, recalled that Judas Iscariot betrayed his master because of lack of contentment, greed, envy and anger pointing out that no one has succeeded by being a betrayal.

The cleric in his message equally warned against the spirit of get rich quick syndrome among the youth as he posited that Judas did not live to spend the money he got for betraying his master, our Lord Jesus Christ.

‘Even if you use people for ritual. You don’t have to do anything against the will of God to prosper. Whatever you get by deceit will not last.  You don’t have to do anything against the will of God to prosper. Whatever you get by deceit will not fade away’, he said.

Penpushing also reports that he said only God given resources and wealth stand the test of time, adding that as Jesus Christ’s life of commitment of love to humanity teaches, Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity and political affiliations should be committed to the country’s unity and peaceful co-existence.

The famous and known frankly speaking cleric pointed out the love for humanity made Jesus to sacrifice himself, stressing further that the purpose of His death and resurrection goes beyond wearing of the cross.

“People wear different types of cross and celebrate Easter without deep understanding of the sufferings and pains of Jesus Christ on the cross. The cross is a symbol of open heaven, unhindered access to God for a successful life, among others”, he posited.

Penpushing also reports that Achudume said only God given resources and wealth stand the test of time adding that as Jesus Christ’s life of commitment of love to humanity teaches, Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity and political affiliations should be committed to the country’s unity and peaceful co-existence.

The clergyman of repute warned against oppression and intimidation,emphasizing that justice must be upheld in the country, just as he mentioned that sacrificial love as exhibited on the cross by Jesus must be embarrassed by all especially in every family unit and community.

Penpushing reports that Achudume observed and lamented that many innocent people are languishing in prisons across the country while those looting the country’s treasury are walking freely on the streets of Nigeria and beyond.

The cleric called on the need for every leader in every field of human endeavours to always activate the spirit of love around them, stressing that Easter is all about selfless service to humanity, unparalleled love and total obedience to the will of God.
