YORUBA WOMEN ENDORSE AMOTEKUN

The Yoruba Women in the South-West of Nigeria have declared support for the regional security outfit code name Amotekun, emphasizing that it has come to stay, and remained the only alternative way to safe guard and protect the zone from incessant crimes being perpetrated by bandits.

Penpushing reports that, Iyalode of Yorubaland women leader made this known while featuring as a guest of Sweet F,M , which was part of activities marking the 4th anniversary of the radio station in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

‘Amotekun has come to stay. Whoever is against Amotekun is against Yoruba race. I am in support of the South West Governors on the Amotekun project. Should we fold our arms seeing our people being killed? Enough is enough’, Lawson stated

‘Whatever we have to protect our people and region is better. We should be one, and OPC should be in partnership with Amotekun. Enough of bloodshed in our land. Traditional rulers should bring themselves together for the benefits of the land and subjects’,she added

The Iyalode urged the royal fathers to forget the past and consider the future of Yorubaland, while she also assured that on her own part, as a community leader, she would continue to contribute her quota to developmental growth of the communities, state and country at large.

Penpushing also reports that, Lawson who doubles as the 4th Iyalode of Egbaland explained that she is not a politician, as being erroneously believe in some quarters, declaring that she was not ready to be, rather she would continue  to provide her own support as community leader.

‘I am a community leader, I am not a politician and I can’t be. I have no political card of any party, I challenge anyone who claim I have to come out, all what I have is voters card, and not party card. There is difference between community leader and politician, so we should not mix up the two’, Lawson declared
