Do away from get- rich -quick syndrome, Achudume tells Nigerian youths

The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Rev Lawrence Achudume has frowned at get rich quick syndrome among the youths, without paying the price of discipline, hard work and integrity.

Penpushing reports that, Achudume made the observation while delivering his homily at the Thanksgiving Service marking the just concluded 3rd Convocation Ceremony of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, where a total of 44 students bagged varying degrees.

The vocal cleric lamented that the trend of money making has turned many Nigerian youths to modern day ritualists and partakers of evil covenants, and admonished the fresh graduates to beware of what he called “the yeast of the Pharisees” which centered on covetousness and love of money, which he stressed, is the root of all evils.

Penpushing further reports that, Achudume quoting copiously from the Holy Scriptures, Luke 12: 15 and John 11: 41, counseled the graduating students not to be like the Biblical rich fool who thought money is all that matter to life.

The clergyman who commended the management of Chrisland University for developing an entrepreneurship niche in its curriculum, expressed gladness that the institution’s products would not be joining the ever swelling rank of job seekers in the country.

Penpushing also reports that, Achudume pointed out that, rather, they are job creators whose potentials will greatly transform the nation’s economy, and commended the institution for not just limiting academic to certificate, but training students to become entrepreneurs and job creators.

“One thing I know about Chrisland University is that they don’t just teach them to acquire certificate but they are trained to become entrepreneurs and job creators. I am proud that these are the crop of titans who will revolutionize this nation’, he added.

“You are all about to go into a world system that is not controlled neither by your parents or your school. Because of this, you must insulate yourselves from covetousness and unbridled desires which are the major pitfalls of many youths”, Achudume emphasised

Penpushing reports that,  Chancellor and Founder of the University, High Chief (Mrs) Winifred  Awosika expressed gratitude to God for his munificence over the institution, pledging to devote more funds for developmental projects on campus to make life more convenient for students.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Chinedu Peace Babalola while speaking disclosed that the University has recently secured 100 percent National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation for virtually all the courses offered by the university.

Penpushing further reports that, Babalola  revealed that  the institution is gearing up efforts to commence its Law programme, as soon as the necessary accreditation and facilitations were achieved while its other programmes in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Science, Anatomy and Mass Communication are currently top in scale.
