DANGOTE OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP TO 115 OGUN STUDENTS

Dangote  pointed out that, despite the economic situation of the country, the company has increased the number of awardees in tertiary institutions from 39 to 100, while that of secondary school has also been increased from 10 to 15 to cover all the 15 host communities.

The business mogul said the amount was increased from N75, 000 to N100, 000 for students in tertiary institution and enjoined the beneficiaries to reciprocate the good gesture by taking their studies seriously and come out with good grades at the end of their studies to guaranty them employment in the company.

 The monarch of the community, Olu of Imasayi, Gbadebo Oni, thanked the State government and Dangote for establishing the company in the community, assuring that necessary steps would be taken to protect and maintain mutual relationship between the company and the host communities.

Oni appreciated the company for improving on its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), calling on it to follow the footstep of Obajana Cement in Kogi State, by establishing a technical training school in the area, assuring that the community has enough land to accommodate such project.

A beneficiary  of the gestures, Grace Idowu , a National Diploma student from the Department of Accounting, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, while thanking the company for the promised to make good use of the opportunity and give back to her community and the State at large on completion of her studies.

Similarly, Adijat Obalange of Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro, appreciated the State government for providing conducive environment that has enhanced academic performance and Dangote Cement Company for giving her and others the scholarship, saying that it would encourage them to be more committed to their studies.
