CRIMES COMMISSION CHAIRMAN, MAGU AVOIDS QUESTION ON TINUBU’S BULLION VAN PETITION

Penpushing further reports that on February 22, photos emerged on social media of two bullion vans entering Tinubu’s residence in Lagos, an action known to a violation to Nigeria’s anti-money laundering laws.

The ruling party leader later admitted the bullion vans were conveying money to his house, but defended his action, saying he did nothing wrong because he was not a government official, but Nigerians in reaction called for probe against Tinubu

Penpushing also reports that, months after the shocking incident, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has refused to probe the case, but In October, the commission said on Twitter it failed to act because there was no petition.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), agency dared a social media activist, Segun Awosanya, to send a petition against Tinubu, and in response to the challenge, a political activist, Deji Adeyanju, on October 25 filed a formal petition addressed to Magu demanding an investigation into the matter.
