Crimes commission boss, magu, arrested

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu was on Monday arrested by security agents at the Wuse II office of the commission in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT).

Penpushing reports that, the armed security agents stopped his convoy and he was taken away after about 30 minutes of arguments between the various security officials present including those of the anti-graft boss.

The commission boss was immediately driven to the Aso Villa where it is suspected he would appear before a panel set up by the President to review allegations against him by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Penpushing further reports that, the Attorney General of the Federation reportedly accused Magu of insubordination and re-looting of recovered funds, while findings as at the time of filing this report revealed that,  the anti-graft boss has since been joined at the Presidential villa by the commission’s counsel, Rotimi Jacobs.

Meanwhile, the authorities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the State Security Service (SSS) were yet to make any official statement as at the time of this report
