Crescent university law students shine at international competition
The management of Crescent University, Abeokuta has disclosed that three first class undergraduates of Bola Ajibola College of Law, of the university have made the country and Africa proud at the 31st Vis-Moot Court Arbitration Competition in the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, France.
Penpushing reports that Senior Assistant Registrar (Public Relations) of the institution, Idris Katib in a statement explained that Crescent University was the only African university that that participated in the event where the trio of Fatihat Omotolani Gafar, Zaynab Precious Ambali and Habeeb Feranmi Ganiyu showed class in advocacy and arbitration.
The statement added that the event, which was held between 12th and 14th of March , 2024 in Paris, hosted universities around the world, stating that team Crescent emerged favourite with special commendations to Habeeb Feranmi Ganiyu, a 400-level student, for his power of advocacy as Fatihat Omotolani Gafar and Zaynab Precious Ambali, final-year students, were praised for subject knowledge and communication skills.
Penpushing further reports that Katib in the statement said the Proprietor of Crescent University Abeokuta, Prince Mahruf Adesegun Ajibola receiving the news lauded the sterling efforts of the dean of the Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW), Prof. Momodu Kassim-Momodu, Coach Damilola Adesanya and other faculty members under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila for putting Crescent University’s law and arbitration on the world map.
‘As it turned out, Crescent University remained the only university from Africa in the event upon the said withdrawal of the other African university. This places a lot more responsibility and expectations on Crescent University than May have been the case”, while also according gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the feat’, he said.
Penpushing also reports that the statement said Ajibola described the feat as testimony of sorts and the road to the vision of the Founder of Crescent University, late Judge Bola Ajibola who was a member of council of the ICC in his lifetime.
The Dean of Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW), Prof. Momodu Kassim-Momodu, in his remarks said this was a great achievement for the college and the university, stressing that the institution focus was on learning and networking for the students and exposure of Crescent University at the international scene as a centre of excellence in law and arbitration”.
