Court jails man 91 years for kidnapping, child-trafficking
A man, Paul Owne, who conspired with six other persons for the kidnap of the children who were mostly under five years and teenagers has been sentenced to 91 years jail term for masterminding the kidnapping the children for in Kano for sale in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Penpushing reports that, Kano State High Court sentenced the man, having found him guilty of all the 38 charges filed against him by Kano State Government, and also, the court found him guilty of counts 3, 5, 10, 11, 22, 28 and 38, sentencing him to seven years for each.
The judge, Zuwaira Yusuf, while delivering his judgement on Friday also fined Owne N100,000 for conspiracy, and equally found him guilty of counts 2, 8, 9, 2, 27 and 34, and sentenced him to seven years for each count without an option of fine ,adding that the sentence shall run consecutively
Penpushing further reports that, the convict was arraigned before the court alongside five other defendants who pleaded not guilty to all the charges against them, hence, their. own trial is therefore continuing..
