Coronavirus: Society for family health collaborates with Ogun state government on media roundtable

The Society for Family Health (SFH) in collaboration with the Ogun State Primary Health Care Development Board on Monday engaged media in a roundtable on Coronavirus and Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Penpushing reports that, the media roundtable with limited number of journalists with physical attendance, in line with coronavirus protocols was held at the Legacy Resort, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, while other participants joined via online.

The Commissioner of Health, Dr Tommy Coker declared  opened the roundtable which has the the theme, ’Meaningful Youth Engagement in Adolescents and Covid-19’, with selected resource persons making presentation on different papers.

Penpushing further reports that, the presentations include:Covid-19 in Ogun State: An overview which was presented by  Dr Kayode Soyinka, who is the Incident Manager  of Coronavirus Taksforce, ‘Reaching Adolescents and Young People with Essential life Building Skills and SRH Services in Covid-19-Meaningful Youth Engagement’ presented by Eunice Ogunkelu (Programme Assistant),

The other topics are; ’Impact of Covid on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health in Ogun State’, delivered by Dr Israel Orire(State RH Coordinator), ‘The Voice of Adolescent Girls in Nigeria’ presented by Bukola Ogunsemi(Young Designer)

Penpushing also reports that, at the roundtable, Busayo Oliyide, a 9ja Girl beneficiary gave a Life Testimonial titled, ’Adolescent Girls SHR Challenges and Needs in the Era of Covid-19’, while opportunities were made available for participants to contribute and asked questions followed with appropriate responses from lecturers.
