Coronavirus: Oyo State journalists applaud donors over palliatives

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has commended some prominent personalities in the state for extending their support to the union at this pandemic season, with the provision of palliatives
Penpushing reports that, the Chairman of the union, Ademola Babalola, gave the commendation on Friday while receiving some of the items donated by these personalities in the state at the press centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
The union also commended the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan Chapter for donating hand sanitizers to the union, stressing that, “the support would go a long way in cushioning the economic effect of the coronavirus global pandemic on some vulnerable members of the union.
Penpushing further reports that, he expressed appreciation to the personalities for considering them for the support, promising that members of the union would continue to discharge their duties diligently praying that God would salvage the nation and the world at large from the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, among personalities who donated cash and consumables to the union include: Senator Kola Balogun (Peoples Democratic Party-Oyo South), Chief Niyi Akintola (SAN), Mr Joseph Tegbe, Musiliudeen Akinremi (All Orogressives Congress-Ibadan North) as well as Chief Rotimi Ajanaku.
