Coronavirus cases hit over one million globally

The ravaging coronavirus across the globe has affected over one million people, while more than 50, 000 have died, with the  United States of America(USA) top the list of the affected countries, as well as, Spain, and Italy alone have a combined figure of over half a million infections,

 Penpushing reports that, data from worldometers.info has revealed, while a recent study found that the deadly disease can spread through the air and remains contagious for hours and It can also linger in rooms formerly occupied by patients, making the contagion harder to avoid.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) is particularly concerned with the ability of the poorest countries in the world to control the disease, while it has already put a foothold on Europe, the United States, and southeast Asia and is beginning to wreak havoc in Africa and South America.

Penpushing further reports that, as at  Thursday evening, data from worldometers.info showed there were 1,004,458 confirmed cases across the world, a number that has doubled in a week, and the number of infected people crossed the half a million threshold last Thursday.

This is exactly a week ago, showing an accumulated growth rate of about 100, 000 cases in every two days during the period, and in the same vein, there are 742, 394 active cases as of the time of filing this report, and of that number, over 704, 000 are in mild condition.

Penpushing also reports that, about 38, 000 cases are in serious or critical conditions, and global records have it as at the time of reporting nearly 210, 000 people have recovered after treatment
