The agency spokesman said, the red colour Man Diesel truck was coming from the North in bound Lagos and loaded with yam, while fourteen passengers presumed to be owners of the products sat atop of the yams, when the accident occurred.
‘The casualty was much because some of the passengers who are also likely owners of the yam were seating on the yam in the open space at the back, thus when it lost control due to overspeeding and poor visibility, fell by its side with the yam and vehicle falling on them’, he explained.
Penpushing further reports that, Akinbiyi said the driver suddenly lost control due to overspeeding and poor visibility ,hence, the vehicle fell by its side with the yam and falling on the passengers, with four of them killed on the spots, while the injured taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu.
The agency Public Relations Officer said, the dead were taken to FOS mortuary, Ipara Remo, as at the time of filing this report, while the accidented vehicle has been taken to the Police Motor Traffic Division, Iperu-Remo.
Penpushing also reports that, he said, the command commiserate with the family of the dead and injured ,and advised motorists to maintain their vehicle very well, avoid overspeeding and night travel if possible, especially now that that the harmatan season is here, with poor visibility everywhere..
