
Congo stops Nigeria from participating in 2026 world cup
The Democratic Republic of Congo national football team on Sunday stopped Super Eagles of Nigeria from participating in the forthcoming 2026 FIFA world Cup.
Penpushing reports that Congo soccer squad defeated Nigerian team in a penalty shoot out after 1-1 in regulation time at the match played in Rabat, Morocco.

The Congo team stayed in the match even in extra time, and went on to triumph 3-2 in the penalty shootouts, and with that victory the team will now proceed to the inter-confederation playoffs to contest against five teams to determine the last two tickets for the FIFA World Cup finals.
Penpushing further reports that Democratic Republic of Congo have not appeared in the FIFA World Cup finals since 1974 when the country was known as Zaire.
