CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE PARTNER CUSTOMS TO DRIVE NIGERIA’S ECONOMIC GROWTH

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have agreed to partner and work closely together to move the country forward

Penpushing reports that, the partnership was fostered at a meeting led by Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) National President, Hajiya Saratu Iya Aliyu and Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) Comptroller-General Customs Service (NCS) held at Customs Headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

The discussion and cooperation focused on strengthening the existing cooperation between both organisations to drive the economic growth and development of Nigeria, while specific discuss borders on cooperation and compliance, using authentic Certificate of Origin for exports, AfCFTA, interception and ease of doing business, voluntary information sharing, border closure implications, accelerating non-oil revenue generation as laid out in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017-2020 among others.

Penpushing further reports that, the Customs boss expressed desire to work closely and readiness to continue to collaborate to promote trade and commerce for Sustainable Economic growth and development of Nigeria nation.

The 1st Deputy President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA)  Ide John Udeagbala  in his remarks  thanked the customs boss for hosting the assocoation and assured him of sensitising  members and general public on the efforts of customs.

Penpushing also reports that, dignitaries at the event include: Dele Kelvin ( 2nd Deputy President) Mr Nabil Saleh (President Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce), Alhaji Abubakar Jinjiri( National Vice President and President CONCIMMA), Alhaji Ahmad Rabiu (National Vice President), Professor Soji Adesugba (National Legal Adviser,) Ms Victoria Akai (Director General Abuja Chamber of Commerce), Mr Usman Abbas (Director Abuja Liaison Office Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture), Mr Saleh Yau, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture) Protocol Officer and Toun Okewale Sonaiya National Officer Media and Communication.

Meanwhile, the list also include  Custom delegation of its senior members  DCG Chidi Augustine, DCG Ronke Olubiyi, DCG Talatu Mairo Isa, DCG Sanusi Umar, ACG Fatade, ACG Bashar Yusuf andACG Odibu Chris.
