CERTIFICATE FORGERY: NIGERIAN SENATOR, ADELEKE ARRESTED AGAIN TO FACE FRESH CHARGES
The Senator, a junior brother of the late former Osun Stat Governor, Isiaka Adeleke was defended by the Principal of the School in which he allegedly committed the crime, while the federal lawmaker vehemently denied allegations of forgery when he was arraigned by the police.
Penpushing also reports that, Adeleke argued that he was a victim of vindictive politics of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and on his latest arrest, the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba did not immediately give reasons for the detention, but said his(Adeleke) legal representatives were carried along during preparation of charges.
The police spokesman assured that, Adeleke will be accorded the “the best tradition of natural justice and fair hearing”, but the Senator’s associates were of the view that the arrest and subsequent detention were connected to the allegations of certificate forgery that had assailed the lawmaker for nearly a year.
Penpushing reports that, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in reaction condemned Adeleke’s latest arrest arguing that the charges police filed against him in 2018 were still pending in court.
