Habib Jaafar Foundation in collaboration with Apple Pears Company commissions newly built primary school for Kajola community

The Habib Jaafar Foundation, in conjunction with Apple and Pears Limited on Friday officially handed over a newly built primary school to the Kajola community located in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that the commissioning of the school, Habib Jaafar Nursery and Primary School took place at the premises of Apple and Pears Limited in Flower Gate, Kajola Village, Interchange, along Abeokuta-Kajola dual carriage road

The Corporate Public Relations Manager of Apple and Pearls Limited, Stella Sawyer who welcomed dignitaries, guests, and community members to the ceremony explained that the school project is designed to enhance educational access and learner safety in the community and environs.

Penpushing further reports that, Executive Secretary of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Obafemi -Owode, Hon. Chief Adeoye Olaseni in his welcome address, stated that the school will serve as an annex to N.U.D. Nursery and Primary School, Orile-Imo until it attains autonomous status

‘The school is going to serve as an annex to N.U.D. Nursery and Primary School, Orile-Imo until it becomes fully fledged when approved and given autonomous status in the nearest future’, he said

‘The siting of the school here will save the learners the agony of trekking a long distance along the express road to N.U.D Orile-Imo, which is dangerous and hazardous at times’, Olaseni added

Penpushing also reports that the Chairman Obafemi-Owode local government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunsola  acknowledged other contributions made by the Habib Jaafar Foundation and Apple and Pears Nigeria Limited in the last two years, including the renovation of three schools in Orile-Imo.

The council boss pointed out how, he had contributed to the educational system in the community by being the first chairman to build a block of ten classrooms for a local government in Ogun State in order to provide a conducive environment for students to learn.

“I stand to be corrected; I am the first chairman to build 10 classrooms for a school in a local government. There are representatives from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and you can ask around because I am the first person to achieve in the whole local government of Ogun State’, he boasted.

Penpushing reports that he commended efforts of the foundation and Apple and Pears Limited on developmental efforts in Kajola community, assuring that this will be brought to the attention of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The chairman equally used the occasion to celebrate Mr. Habib Jaafar, founder of the foundation whose birthday coincided with the epoch event attended by number of dignitaries within and outside Kajola community.

Penpushing further reports that Baale of Kajola expressed appreciation to Apple and Pears Limited for the support, pointing out the management consistent efforts in uplifting the community.

Penpushing also reports that Chef Operations Manager of Apple and Pears Limited Johnson Adah in his speech stated that the project represents more than just a corporate social responsibility initiative; it embodies the commitment to contributing to humanity and the development of host community, Kajola.

Penpushing reports that he expressed gratitude to Habib Jaffar Foundation for the tireless efforts and collaboration, and equally appreciated the Ministry of Education for the support and partnership in this endeavor.

‘As we hand over the school project to the Ministry of Education, we’re confident that it will continue to thrive and serve as a beacon of hope for the community. We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting the development of Kajola in the years to come’.

Penpushing further reports he pupils of N.U.D Primary School, Orile-Imo, led by their teacher Mrs. Abdulsalam Folasade Olatundun, were not left out of the ceremony as they presented a touching musical performance dedicated to Apple and Pears Limited, in appreciation of contributions to education and child development.

The new school comprises three classrooms furnished for learners, a modern toilet facility, a borehole, perimeter fencing, and a Head Teacher’s office — all aimed at creating a safe and conducive learning environment for children in the area.

Ifede Joshua (Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education) and Mrs Obayemi Aderinsola (Yeye Oge of Kajola 1) among others
