BUHARI APPOINTS OTEGBAYO AS MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF UNIVERSITY COLLEGE HOSPITAL
The profile of Otegbayo also has it that, after graduation, he underwent Residency training in Internal Medicine at University College Hospital (UCH), and became a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians in 1998. He further specialised in Gastroenterology and Hepatology with further trainings at the Johann-Wolgang Goethe Hospitale in Germany in 2000, and the University of Tel-Aviv in Israel in 2002.
He obtained his Msc and PhD in Chemical Pathology/Immunology at the University of Ibadan in 2003 and 2011, respectively. Currently, he is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Glasgow).
Penpushing also reports that, his academic interest focuses on Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and has done extensive research and clinical works in acute and chronic liver diseases, particularly in viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
He has over one hundred peer-review publications and was the maiden Editor–in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Prime Medics of the Journal of the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
