‘The Vice President, Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited Mr Devakumar Edwin has recently alleged the conspiracy against the multimillion-dollar Dangote Refinery which has been acknowledged to be among the best refineries globally’, the statement reads.

‘For the Executive Vice Chairman of Dangote Oil and Gas to raise an alarm and open a save our soul alert by himself, Broadcasting organisations of Nigeria BON believes that the threat could be real and the devastating consequences of such international and national conspiracy will have an adverse effect on the Nigerian Economy’, Bamgbose stressed.

Penpushing further reports that the statement said the Nigerian government should not only be interested in investigating these allegations but should be seen to be taking immediate action to combat and checkmate any attempt from within and outside the country to frustrate the economic emancipation of Nigeria.

‘The allegations of international conspiracy against Nigeria is not a new thing and there is the tendency to assume the genuineness of the various allegations of international conspiracy particularly to deliberately suppress the Nigerian economy perpetually’, the statement added.

‘For example, in 2015 when the Nigeria government came up with a monetary policy that was aimed at increasing the value of Naira and to encourage local production of some imported items that can be produced locally some powerful foreign countries protested vehemently at a WTO meeting alleging that such policy will have negative impact on their economy’.

Penpushing also report that the broadcasting organisations noted that the  conspiracy against Nigeria is usually a concerted effort involving foreign media, international agencies and powerful countries that always believe that it will be devastating for them if Nigeria is allowed to get it right.

‘As soon the Nigerian government announces any measures that will liberate its economy, there are always  threats and protests from foreign investors using over the airwaves to arm twist Nigeria’, Bamgbose added.

‘It was reported that at least, nine WTO members raised concerns about the trade-related impact of the rules at a meeting of the WTO’s Council for Trade in Goods including requests for further devaluation of the Naira’, the statement said.

Penpushing reports that the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) stressed that the government should take steps to ensure that the refineries including that of Dangote survive the onslaught of imperialists.

‘It is curious to know that it was Dangote refinery reputed to be one of the largest and probably the best for now has commenced production that allegations of using crude oil with high concentration of sulphur was magnified by the international media’.

Penpushing further reports that the statement emphasized that what Nigerians must know is that these foreign investors want to come in and buy Nigeria’s assets at give-away prices and then make fortunes out of them later.

‘It is the responsibility of the Nigerian government to take a decisive decision to protect and make Industries owned by Nigerians grow. We therefore appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct for a thorough investigation into the allegations and complaints made publicly by the leadership of Dangote Oil and Gas division of Aliko Dangote Conglomerate. This is necessary to determine the veracity or otherwise of these weighty allegations’, Bamgbose stressed
