Bikers provide food package for Akinale community in Ogun state

The Charity of Light Christians Super Bikers Association of Nigeria, on Tuesday gave out palliatives to residents of Akinale in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, as part of measure to cushion effect of the lockdown.

Penpushing reports that, the donors who zoomed into the community on power bikes  distributed free packages of 200 loafs of 700 grams weight bread, a project  jointly sponsored by them and Sweet Sensation in Abeokuta to assist  elders and vulnerable as anti-hunger in the trending lockdown against coronavirus.

The leader of the bikers Ibi Somefun, who spoke on behalf of the bikers whose hobbies include mobile evangelism named  “Church on wheel, Jesus Road, so do we” said the pestilence of coronavirus was a war of disruption which caught humanity by surprise, adding that as good as the precautionary lockdown was, sufficient arrangement must be made to feed the incarcerated.

Penpushing further reports that, Sokefun explained that,their concern for the elders and vulnerable in this trying period necessitated for their humanitarian service, and enjoined all residents of Akinale to cultivate the habit of continuous cleanliness dictated by the health hazards.

The women society in Akinale, “Egbe Omolere” in a related development  had  themselves with donations to procure bags of rice, beans and beverages which they have distributed to poor and needy in the community.

Penpushing also reports that, the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye expressed gratitude to the donors and enjoined other humanitarian bodies to come to the aid of the needy in this lockdown.

The Towulade Akinale commended the government, particularly the Ogun State government for their proactive measures to contain the pandemic, save life and provide palliatives, and took the opportunity to appeal to the Federal Government to sympathise with ex staff of the defunct Nigeria Airways by paying the balance of their outstanding pension and disengagement entitlements so that they could have fund to cater for their dependents.
