Atiku visits Buhari in Daura
The Presidential Candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, has visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in the latter’s home town, Daura, Katsina State and the Emir of Daura to congratulate them for the successful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festivity.
Penpushing reports that Abubakar was accompanied by former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, a former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Tsauri, and some party supporters.
The former Vice President on Saturday arrived at the Katsina Airport at about 11.25 a.m. before moving to Daura to meet with Buhari and also paid a condolence visit to the family of late Sade, father to the Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Trading Limited, Lawal Dade.
Penpushing further reports that Abubakar on visit to the Emir of Daura, Umar Farouq, condoled with him over Sade’s demise, and after his visits told journalists that he was in the state to condole with the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, over the death of his son, Abdullah Abdulmumini.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain added that he also condoled with the family of a former Governor of the defunct Kaduna State, Lawal Kaita, over the death of his widow, Yelwa Lawal-kaita, explaining that he visited Buhari to equally congratulate him for the successful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festivity.
Penpushing also reports that Abubakar speaking on the leadership crisis rocking the Katsina State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), assured that the forthcoming party congresses will resolve it.
The Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, however, in a statement on Saturday said the visit was meant for the former vice president to express his love for Katsina State in particular and to familiarise with distinguished personalities of the Daura Emirate.
