Assault: Face-off between divisional police crime officer, woman police attracts attention of inspector general of police
The face-off between a female police officer, Olorunsogo Bamidele and her boss, Ajayi Mathew, who is the Divisional Crime Officer of Ode-Omu Police Station, Osun State, resulting in alleged assault has attracted attention of the Inspector-General of Police.
Penpushing reports that, the female police inspector alleged that, her boss assaulted and inflicted injuries on her, as well as blackmailing her over her refusal to his romantic request, stressing that he(Ajayi) also threatened to kill her
The female police officer, who is a married woman in a short video posted on Facebook, with bruises on her chest and arms, said she asked Ajayi for her offence, which resulted in assault, but could not explain
“I asked what my offence was and he started beating me to the extent that he naked me. Look at my hand and chest with bruises. He asked me to date him and I told him that I am a married woman and since my refusal, he started blackmailing me’, she alleged.
“He beat me in the presence of two constables and about 10 civilians. He later went into his office and brought out a gun, threatening to shoot me, it was then that one of the civilians took me out telling me to start running away but I insisted that I was not going to run, Let him shoot me if really wants to. Please help me, Ajayi at Ode Omu division wants to kill me”, she added
Penpushing further reports that , as at the time of filing this report, the Divisional Crime Officer, could not be reach for his own position on the controversial issue, and in response, the Force Police Public Relations Office, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the authorities will do due diligence in addressing the matter.
The police spokesman disclosed that, the incident got to the attention of the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba and has directed Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Olaleye Faleye to investigate the alleged assault

‘We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken. However, we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of NPF’,Adejobi emphasized
