Apomu Queen hosts children of community, doles out gifts
The Queen of Apomu Kingdom located in Osun State, South-West of Nigeria,Olori Janet Afolabi has hosted more than 900 Apomu children and distributed 1000 books to them, as support for their education.
Penpushing reports that, the event was held at Alapomu palace, which started with a march past and subsequently followed with quizz and dance competitions, where winners were presented with prizes base on performances.
The Chairman Isokan Local Government area of the state, Hon Maroof Akinremi presented the first prize Trophy to Prophet Muhammed school which won in march past, while Sunday Odewale from St Barnaba’s Anglican Primary school won the first prize in the dance competition.
Penpushing further reports that, the children had fun as they danced , ate and drank at the event and equally went home with noodles cake and books,explaining that the gestures were part of her social responsibility,

Meanwhile, among those who attended the event were Iyaloja of Apomu,who is the Woman Leader of Apomu market Christian Akinlabu, the Otun Iyalode of Apomu, Youth Corp members among others.
