Almajiri beheads 6-year-old boy
An Almajiri simply identified as Abdullahi has allegedly beheaded a six-year-old, Mohammed Saidu in Kanwa village, Madobi Local Government Area of Kano state, as the police command launched investigation into the murder.
Penpushing reports that Commissioner of Police in the state Usaini Gumel, who confirmed the ugly development the 16-year-old suspect who hails from Zamfara State, was sighted at Kanwa village by a good Samaritan while in possession of a blood-stained knife.
The commissioner added that the headless body of Saidu was found in a nearby primary school after extensive searches, and that the suspect was then taken to the house of the village head to prevent him from being lynched.
Penpushing further reports that Gumel explained that when the police arrived, the suspect confessed to the crime, disclosing that he dumped the head of the victim in a pit toilet adjacent to the primary school, while the remain of the victim were recovered and moved to the hospital for examination, thereafter released to his relatives for burial.
The police boss said the angry mob overwhelmed the village head, descended on the suspect and inflicted serious injuries on him, and was taken to the Kwankwaso Cottage Hospital but died while receiving treatment.
