Alamutu, New Ogun State Commissioner of Police assumes duty
The new Commissioner of Police Ogun State Command Abiodun Alamutu on Wednesday officially resumed duty at the Eleweran Police Command, Abeokuta, and was welcome in a glamorous manner by the men and officers of the command.
Penpushing reports that Alamutu on arrival at 9am, inspected a guard of honour to usher him into the headquarters, and was also received by the management of the command before heading to his office, where he later had a closed door meeting with them.
Penpushing further reports that a 7-year-old girl,Princess Inioluwa Lawal, a pupil of Mic-Lawal Academy and artist who sing gospel songs and act in movies, as well as versatile in playing keyboard was part of the team, who welcome Alamutu to the command with the presentation of bouquet to usher him into the office
The Commissioner of Police was appointed alongside seven other commissioners by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, before being transferred to Ogun State, while other were also deployed to various state commands
Penpushing also reports that he was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on the 18th of May 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police Course three at the Nigeria Police Academy Kaduna between 1992 and 1994, and had served at various capacity in the force before rising to the position of 36th Commissioner of Police in Ogun State.
The Commissioner in his maiden speech said he was elated and excited by the singular privilege to serve as the number one policeman in the state, stressing that its more than just promotion, but a call to higher responsibility with utmost patriotism.
Penpushing also reports that he called on officers and men of the command on need to come together and be rededicated to work and redouble their efforts in ensuring security of lives and properties of every law abiding residents of the state
‘I must sincerely confessed that, I am humbled by the confidence repose on me by the Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun and the Police Service Commission in which I honestly believe the most appropriate and better way to reciprocate this test of goodwill is to against all odds, surpass all expectations by ensuring that, I do not only build on the successes of my predecessor but that Ogun State remain safe’, Alamutu said
‘I will do everything humanly possible to improve significantly on the existing security condition of the state and further crave to achieve a sustainable peace which fosters and promote socio-economic and socio-political development of the state’, he emphasized
Penpushing reports that Alamutu expressed appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his trust in him to work with him as the Commissioner of Police in the state, as well as his commitment and continued support to the police command
‘I hope to assure him of my readiness to work all round the clock to keep the state secured as well as solicit for more of his support in order to achieve my mandate of riding the state off all forms of criminalities’, Alamutu stated
‘It is in view of addressing these challenges headlong that, I intend to show good leadership and formulate realistic vision and practicable strategies to ensure Ogun State remain peaceful and significantly improved in terms of general security of the state, particularly as a lead agency with an onerous task of internal security management
