OGUN SWEARS IN 18 COMMISSIONERS, 15 SPECIAL ADVISERS

The Ogun State Government on Friday sworn in eighteen of it nineteen commissioners, as well as fifteen Special Advisers who took oath of allegiance and office in the presence of the Governor and chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Penpushing reports that, the swearing in was held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, the State Capital with loyalists of the new Commissioners and Special Advisers in their hundreds to give support to them.

The Commissioners include: Abudu Balogun(Environment) ,Ade Akinsanya(Works and Infrastructure), Dr Adeola Odedina(Agriculture, Afolabi Afuape(Chieftaincy and Local Government),Dapo Okubadejo(Finance), Femi Ogunbanwo(Special Duites), Ganiyu Hamzat(Community Development and Cooperatives), Gbolahan Adeniran(Justice), Funmi Efuwape(Women Affairs) and Jamiu Omoniyi(Housing)

Penpushing further reports that, others are; Kehinde Oluwadare(Youth and Sports), Kikelomo Longe(Commerce and Industry, Olaolu Olabimtan(Budget and Planning), Oludotun Taiwo(Rural Development), Tomi Coker(Health), Toyin Taiwo(Culture and Tourism, Tunji Akinosi (Forestry)and Tunji Odunlami(Urban and Physical Planning)

Similarly, sixteen Special Advisers were sworn in at the venue which include: Adebiyi Adeleye, Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, Aina Salami, Babatunde Adesina, Babatunde Olaotan, Dayo Abiodun,, Joseph Odemuyiwa and Kunle Otun

Penpushing also reports that,the Special Advisers also include: Lekan Olude, Ola Oresanya,Olushola Subair, Peju Shote, Remmy Hazan, Ronke Soyombo and Tajudeen Egunjobi. All the political appointees later signed oath of office which was supervised by the Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

The Governor in his speech said their  selection and subsequent appointment, was  been presented with a rare opportunity to lead and serve the people who expect so much from them  in terms of performance.

‘Their aspirations, their desires for growth and prosperity are hinged on your success. The dividends of democracy should not be elusive, your actions and performance should help our State blossom, grow well and our people to thrive’, he told the commissioners.

Abiodun said the appointment is a call to service, and through their dedication, time and energy their character will be appreciated and esteemed, stressing that,’you have been designated because you are qualified and possess the right experience to make a positive difference in our dear State’.

‘Today, I want to challenge you to see leadership as the opportunity to improve the lives and conditions of those who need it most. This is the ideal that motivates our administration and why we have employed the services of professionals, experienced individuals who share the same vision and passion for the development of Ogun State’.

‘This is a deliberate strategy for us to harness the creative abilities and energies of those who can deliver on the “Building our Future Together” Agenda. Let me also say that your appointment comes at a very important period in the history of our dear State’.

‘Some have insinuated the appointment of members of the State Executive Council is late. Nevertheless, to procure the very best, that is, game-changers who believe in our all-hands-on-deck-approach, team players who will make an impact, one must consult widely’,Abiodun emphasised.
