Ajimobi’s spokesman admits his fragile health, but says former governor still alive
The spokesperson for Oyo State former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Bolaji Tunji has debunked the rumoured death, explaining that he spoke with the family who are with him as at 9.00pm, and said he (Ajimobi) was still alive
Penpushing reports that following controversy over the death rumour Tunji called on Nigerians to disregard it, but added that he had no personal clue to the health status of his principal
‘I spoke with his family who are with him as of 9:00 p.m. and they said he is still alive. Nigerians should continue to pray to God to preserve his life and let him live long,” Tunji emphasized
Penpushing further reports that, Tunji who admitted the fragility of Ajimobi’s health, said he has not been able to independently confirm Ajimobi’s status beyond the account of his family
The former Commissioner for information under Ajimobi’s administration, Toye Arulogun, in his own remarks also said he had no information on his principal’s status.
Penpushing also reports that, the rumour, which spread like wildfire on social media, said the former Governor, who was recently appointed as acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) had spent weeks in critical condition at a Lagos hospital after contacting the coronavirus.
