Ajimobi made us, history will never forgets him – Ibadan newly elevated monarchs

The 21 new traditional ruler  installed by late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi has disclosed that the deceased  made them, saying that history will never forget his unprecedented achievement in Ibadan land, and Oyo State in general.

Penpushing reports that the Ekaarun Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Amidu Ajibade, spoke on behalf of his colleagues while paying a condolence visit to the Ajimobi’s family at their Oluyole residence in Ibadan.

The royal fathers  noted that what late  Ajimobi did in the state was an eye opener for Ibadan land, and Oyo State in general, adding that history and tradition will never forgets him.

“Ajimobi tried his best, he made us, he run an inclusive government touching the lives of people in all regions across the state, he always appreciate people and his hands is not tight, he tried for us in all areas, we can’t forget him’.

The monarchs  noted that the review of the 1959 Olubadan chieftaincy declaration was not a novel idea, having been carried out by successive administrations in the state in 1974, 1981, 1993 and 2000, but the former governor makes the dream to become reality.

Penpushing further reports that Ajibade, a Bsc holder in Government and Politics at the Bayero University, pointed out that Oyo State wouldn’t have developed to this stage if not for the firmed decisions of Ajimobi, adding that the former governor always consult people before taking decisions.

The monarch,while answering questions on the latest about the controversy surrounding their installation, explained that the case was still in court, adding that “We didn’t abuse Olubadan, and Olubadan also didnt abuse us, this issue has nothing to do with Olubadan, why will we take our Baba to court? Its only Ladoja that took the case to court, so the case is between the government and Ladoja.

Penpushing also recalled that the former Oyo State Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, presented certificates and staff of office to the 21 chiefs, who were among the 33 elevated to the status of Obas in Ibadan, following the adoption of the recommendations of a judicial commission of inquiry earlier inaugurated by the governor.

Those newly crowned include: His Royal Majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun, Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, Osi Balogun, Oba Eddy Oyewole, Ashipa Olubadan, Oba Latifu Gbadamosi Adebimpe, Ashipa Balogun, Oba Abiodun Kola Daisi, Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Ekaarun Balogun, and Oba Amidu Ajibade, Ekarun Olubadan and others.
