AJIMOBI EXPRESSES SATISFACTION ON ELECTION CONDUCT IN OYO
His words, “I want to commend the people of this State for conducting themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner by not engaging in violence.”
Penpushing further reports that, Governor Ajimobi who is also the All Progressives Congress( APC) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial Districts in the State expressed confidence that his party will win the election because of its acceptability by the people.
“I am very optimistic that my party is going to win this election, you can see that people are smiling, and as you all know, I have been on this electioneering for long and you should not judge by mere saying of the people at the polling unit but you can judge the outcome by the expression on their faces and you can all see that they are smiling while voting”.
In a related development, the Senatorial candidate of All Progressive Congress(APC) in Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin said he was more concern of President Buhari’s victory in poll more that of his own.
Penpushing reports that, Folarin made this known on after casting his vote at Ward 5, Unit 2, Idi Oshe, Ona Ara Local Government in Ibadan, Oyo State, expressing optimism that the party will emerge as the winner at the end of today’s poll.
The candidate while responding to question on what distinguished him from other contestants in the senatorial district, noted that his experience put him ahead of others candidates contesting for the senatorial District.
In another development, Commissioner of Police in the State, Shina Olukolu, visited the polling unit of Governor Abiola Ajimobi at Ward 011, polling unit 021 situated in Oluyole Community Grammar School, Ring Road, Ibadan, Ibadan Southwest Local Government Area .
Penpushing further reports that, the police boss said he was there to find out from the police officials who are on ground whether there is any issue they would want the authorities to look into.
“They told us that they are perfectly okay, and we have also observed that the turnout was very impressive which means that Nigerians are actually interested in the election and they feel secure and safe, so that was why the turnout is so high. We want to assure the people that adequate security is in place. Some of the patrolmen I promised are there on the road, we saw them’.
Penpushing also reports that, the commissioner commended the turnout of voters for the election saying this is as a result of the security in the state. He therefore, assured voters in the State of adequate security throughout the electioneering process.
