MEDIA GURU, OWOLABI OLADEJO BAGS MOST PATRIOTIC IBADAN INDIGENE AWARD
The ceremony was the grand finale of this this year Ibadan Cultural Festival, which had in attendance dignitaries within and outside the country, which include; Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, and other Security Chiefs in the State, Oyo State Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Chief Toye Arulogun, Alhaji Tajudeen Aremu Olasunkanmi, some social clubs and cultural groups among others.

Also in attendance to celebrate with Oladejo, who is a media owner, include, the Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, describing the Awardee as a proactive manager, and a true son of Ibadanland having being found worthy. Penpushing is a media partner with the Metropolitan Broadcasting Service (MBS)
Penpushing further reports that Oladejo while speaking said that he owed Ibadan a duty to serve and impact the life’s of the people, adding that even when other business executives are running to another place because of profit, he didn’t considered money as the only profit, but his ability to impact on peoples life’s was his greatest profit.
The awardee added that his aim to establish Impact Business Radio (IBR) and Impact Africa Television (IATV) was not to make profit but to impact life’s of the people, adding that he had no regret doing that, as the two stations are known to be doing well

“My message to Ibadan indigenes and Yoruba in general is that we have to practically do things on our own to develop our land, and not relying on the government for everything, we need to focus and unite because without unity, there is nothing we can do, so we need to focus on a purpose and we shall get there with the help of God.”
The founder of Metropolitan Broadcasting Services (MBS), however dedicate the award to his parents and two other person, Alhaji Jubril Ajadi Olaogun and Alhaji Abdul Wahab Ayinde Ibrahim who mentored him and played a prominent role in his life.
Penpushing also reports that, earlier in his speech, the President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Yemi Soladoye said that the honor was given to the awardees so that they can be a good Ambassador of Ibadan across the world, and to ensure that Ibadan culture and heritage is not vanished.
“We gives you this honor to make you a good Ambassador of Ibadan culture, this year ceremony will be the shortest to be prepared for because we didn’t have enough time to prepare for the program as a result of the recent Gubernatorial and CCII election that was held recently in the month of March.”
“We plead with you for any irregularities in this program because we only used two weeks to prepare for the program. This annual festival is not only meant to wine and dine, but we are doing it so that our culture and heritage will not be forgotten, we can see that the British has taken away our culture and replaced it with education’.
The Council President noted that countries like China and Indian also took education from the British but they didn’t throw away their culture at the expense of education, adding that this is what Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes( CCII) is also trying to replicate in Ibadan, because Ibadan want to serve as an example to other tribes in Africa.
Penpushing reports that, Soladoye appreciated the outgoing Governor of Oyo State, Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his support over the last eight years of his administration, particularly, his love and passion for Ibadan land.
