Abide with lesson learnt from ramadan, oyo state first lady charge women

The wife of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. (Mrs) Tamunominini Makinde has charged women in the state to abide with the lesson learnt so far from the month of Ramadan in all their dealings even after the passage of the holly month.
Penpushing reports that the Governor’s wife while speaking during the “Year 2020 Ramadan Gifts Distribution for Women” in the state, which was held on Thursday at her office, noted that women in the state should abide with the lesson learnt so far during the holly month, even after the its passage.
The first lady represented by wife of the Deputy Governor, Prof. Mrs Bolanle Olaniyan,said, “Ramadan is a special month and a month of blessing, its a month of mercy and forgiveness, let’s love each other and shows love to everybody irrespective of our political or religious affiliation.
“Lets all women in the state cooperate with the government, and ensure will make positive impact and contribute our quota towards the progress of the state”,she emphasized, and also gave out Ramadan gifts to the women in attendance
The Governor’s wife while speaking about the ramadan gift distributed to the women, noted that having considered the hardship some women are passing through particularly during this pandemic period, the governor through his wife in his magnanimity decided to extend his hand of love to women because of their importance to the society.
“The gesture is not a party affairs, its not only limited to women in PDP alone, it cut across all women in the 33 local government in the state, the wife of the governor is doing this to complement the efforts of the state government in order to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic across the state’.
Penpushing further reports that earlier in her welcome address, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Sanni explained that the women were gathered under the auspices of the First Lady to reach out to them at large and ensure that they take something home.
The Commissioner however called on the women in the state to take health precautions so as to stop the spread of the virus in the state, while women leader of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the state Alhaja Wulemot Ibitoye, appreciated the governor and his wife for the gesture they had shown so far to all women in the state.
Penpushing also reports that, Ibitoye encouraged women in the state on need to support the government to succeed, and commended the Governor for his all inclusive style of administration, saying that women has been giving a level playing ground to occupied different positions in the present cabinet.
Meanwhile, dignitaries at the event include the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mrs Funmilayo Orisadeyi, the Head of Service in the state, Alhaja Amidat Agboola, and the Oyo State Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA) Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu among others.
