8 year old girl among kidnap gang arrested by Civil Defence Corps in Oyo state
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) Oyo State Command has arrested eight year old girl(nameswitheld) as part of suspected kidnappers, which include two women alleged to be terrorizing Ado Awaye, Araromi Local Council Development Area, Okaka and Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government of the state.
Penpushing reports that,the State Commandant of the corps, Iskilu Akinsanya in a statement on Saturday said the suspects were apprehended by the command operatives code-named ‘Agro Rangers Squad’ at Bobajiroro Hotel, Oke Adeta, Iseyin.
The Commander in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Oluwole Olusegun said, the command trailed suspect to the scene of the arrest, adding that during cross examination, Umaru Lawal (25), confessed that the number used in tracking him belong to his friend.
Penpushing further reports that, the statement added that, further interrogation revealed that those numbers were stored on his phone with different codes such as 52,42,33, and when it dawned on him(Umaru) he agreed to help the corps in getting his friend.
The command gave identities of all suspects as include: Umaru Lawal (25) male from Ado-Awaye, Umaru Saliu(27) from Ado-Awaye, Abase Musa(30) from Odo-Ogun Iseyin, Barika Idris from Ipapo Itesiwaju local government, Abdulahi Kanti (25) from Odo-Ogun Iseyin, Boto Dengi (30) from Fasola Oyo, Adiza Adamu (20) from Ilero, and 8 year old girl from Ilero, whose role could not be established as at the time of filing this report.
Penpushing also reports that, the statement said items recovered from the suspects includes boxer red motorcycle with registration number BDJ 580 UL(2) boxer red motorcycle registration number EGB 628 UF, Tecno phones 1 QUP phone(5) Itel phones, sum of N32,510,00.
Meanwhile,the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) in the statement said the suspects will be handed over to Oyo State Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation and prosecution.
