56-year-old poultry attendant arrested for alleged stealing of 1,300 fowls
A 56-year old poultry attendant, Olumiyiwa Abiola has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stealing 1,300 fowls valued at N8million in Libro Farm in Bamsose located in Odeda local government area of the state.
Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola who confirmed the incident in a statement said the Director of the farm had earlier reported the case to the police about sudden disappearance of the fowls put in care of the suspect who was employed on January 28, 2023.
The statement added that the complainant said the poultry attendant a resident of Agbaja zone 3 off Akute road Olodo Ibadan was unable to give satisfactory answer or any account when asked of the missing fowls, on August 11, 2023, as it was also noticed that there was no record of death of the fowls nor had any livestock disease.
Penpushing further reports that Odutola said preliminary investigation has commenced and the suspect has been apprehended and presently in police custody to ascertain the extent or veracity of the alleged theft, assuring that the police will uncover the crime in due course and made its findings known to the public
The police spokesperson said in the statement on Sunday that the Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu has been briefed and has equally ordered for more information within and around the poultry to the police so as to get all other suspects apprehended.
