30 -year- old labourer arrested for alleged sodomy with 12 children

A 30 year old labourer, Lawalli Bala has been arrested in Rikina village in Dange/Shuni Local Government Area of Sokoto State by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for alleged homosexuality.

Penpushing reports that, the suspect was alleged to have sodomised 12 underage children in the night when parents of the children were sleeping, while his arrest was effected following a tip off and had confessed to the crime.

The Zonal Head of  of the agency in the state, Mitika Mafa-Ali, made the disclosure, adding that the suspect was a labourer working for the parents of the children, but allegedly took the advantage to lure the children into homosexuality in the night when the parents are asleep.

Penpushing further reports that, Mafa-Ali said investigation was in progress and that the suspect would soon be charged to court, while in his confessional statement the suspect said he came to Rikina village from Zamfara and was assisted and sheltered by the children’s parents.

The suspect on interrogation confessed to the crime, attributing the crime to satanic influence, disclosing that he was introduced to homosexuality when he was in Niger and continued with act as a source of pleasure.

Penpushing further reports that, a 14 year old, who was one of the victims narrated their ordeal in the hand of the suspect, explaining that the suspect traced them on their various sleeping places, while the parent of the victims said the case had earlier been reported to the local Hisbah Officials before it was taken over by National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The parent who doesn’t want his name in print lamented that the incident was devastating as the suspect was considered as member of the community with all forms of assistance rendered to him. \
