26-year-old man kills motorist after damaging victim’s car

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 26- year- old man, Babatunde Adeyemi , for allegedly killing a 46- year- old driver Ismail Obafunsho, after hitting the deceased car with his own car from the rear.

Penpushing reports that, Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident said the suspect who was driving a Lexus Jeep with customized number plate””Olu of Oya”, was asked by Obafunsho to come down from his car after the crash to assess the damage in order to find solution to it.

The suspect was said to have refused and stayed inside his car, the adamant posture annoyed Obafunsho who sat on the car bonnet of Adeyemi, to avoid running away, and thereafter, the suspect alighted from his car and warned the deceased to leave the bonnet of his car if he doesn’t want to waste his life

Penpushing further reports that, Obafunsho, however, insisted not to leave the car bonnet, and in a twinkle, Adeyemi returned into his car, drove on high speed which made Obafunsho falling down from the car.

The spokesman of the police said the car ran over Obafunsho, while Adeyemi not satisfied, also reversed the vehicle and ran over the deceased again to ensure that he actually died, and thereafter ran away from the scene with his car.

Penpushing also reports that the alleged killer was later traced to his father’s house at Kemta Idi aba area of Abeokuta where he was arrested by men of State Motor Traffic Divison, and the vehicle he used to commit the crime was recovered to the station as well.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police,  Lanre Bankole, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
