Ridiculous: Aviation Authority uses used tyres to clamp down on offending vehicles
The Federal Aviation Authorities of Nigeria,(FAAN), is now in a messy situation, as the management now uses used Tyres and padlock to clamp down on vehicles at the Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT).
Penpushing reports that the ugly development was uncovered at the airport car park, where a number of vehicles parked in obstruction spots were clamped with used tyres, chain and padlock, in a manner observers have described as ridiculous.
The exclusive Investigation conducted revealed that the management of the Aviation Agency could not afford acquisition of authentic clamp machine, known to be the approved equipment for such operations.
Penpushing further reports that, the development attracted many travellers, who expressed shock, describing the situation as horrible and embarrassing to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
“What is this rubbish for God’s sake. This is ridiculous and disturbing, it is a shame on the nation, if aviation authority in our country is displaying this stupidity to the world. What does it cost the management to do the right thing. Honestly, this is embarrassing”, a traveller lamented.
Penpushing also reports that a number of airport officials contacted refused to comment over the ugly development, claiming that, they are not authorized to speak with journalists, stressing that they prefer to keep mute, to avoid running foul against the agency’s rules.
Meanwhile, further efforts to get management of Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN), for reaction proved abortive, as at the time of filing this report
