21 congregants escape death in auto crash along Sagamu -Ijebu- Ode expressway
Twenty-One members of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) on Monday narrowly escaped death in an auto crash along Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway when vehicle conveying them on return from a revival involved in an accident, with number of them sustaininginjuries.
Penpushing reports that the congregants were returning in the church bus with inscription “Missionary” to Edo State after attending revival service at the church in Lagos, when midway on their trip, one of the tyres of the bus suddenly detached from body of vehicle, hence the driver said to be on top speed lost control.
The vehicle summersaulted and landed beside concrete median demarcating the road, while in the process many of them sustained injuries, but were lucky as there was no record of death, while the victims were assisted out from the wreckage vehicle by some motorists plying the road who met them at the scene.
Penpushing further reports that, ambulance with medical personnel later arrived the scene and assisted by motorists in taking them into the ambulance, to rush to State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode for medical attention as at the time of filing this report, while officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC)were equally making frantic efforts to tow the damaged vehicle from the road.
The number of the victims were seen making frantic telephone calls to their relatives back home, to inform them about the crash and their transportation to the hospital for medical attention
Penpushing also reports that, the victims include under ages, as well as students, all said to be resident of Edo State, and they were equally assisted by other motorists to remove their personal effects inside the damaged bus with registration number ABA 496PM
