GBENGA DANIEL HOLDS 14TH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING CHURCH SERVICE FOR LATE FATHER

The ceremony is expected, as usual to be attended by who is who within and outside the country, and it is also on record that, the service involved participation of sister Christian bodies, as well as Bible and musical quiz competitions among others

Penpushing further reports that, Daniel, whose deceased father was a cleric, was elected Governor of Ogun State in April 2003, running on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform has recently left politics to face his business and dedicated rest of his life to serve God

The former acquired the chieftaincy title of  Otunba of  Ijebuland  of the State during the course of his first term, and he promoted entrepreneurship amongst young people through youth development programmes.

The Nigerian Youth Council of the State was massively empowered to help youths all over the State and many young people were appointed into notable political positions, while some of his other achievements while in office include building roads, recreational centres and stadiums in the three Senatorial Districts of the State, and setting up a University of Education, the Gateway International Stadium was a site of the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup which was held in Nigeria.

Penpushing also reports that, Daniel in February 2009, authorised reduction of fees at the State-owned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to ₦7,000, and this followed negotiations with the National Association of Nigerian Students after parents and students had protested recent increases to fees.
