Seed of Joy Foundation donates items to correctional centres in memory of late daughter of board chairman

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Seed of Joy Foundation has donated gift items and cash to the vulnerable, a project done to immortalize the deceased daughter Elihah Akinyemi, the Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of the foundation

Penpushing reports that the foundation took the items for distribution to Bostal Home located in Adigbe, Stella Obasanjo Motherless Home at Government Reservation Area, Atilab Hospital and Correctional Home all in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The Chairman who is a former Permanent Secretary with the Ogun State Civil Service, who is visually impaired explained that the gestures was borne out as a means to  immortalize the legacies and aspirations of the short but fulfilled  life of his daughter , Abisola Abiodun Akinyemi

Penpushing further reports that Akinyemi said the foundation which is registered was the initiative of the family and friends, adding that it is a voluntary, incorporated, charitable and non-for-profit organization with a vision for the inclusion of diversity, gender equality and better living standard for humanity.

‘The initiative which was borne out as a means to  immortalize the legacies and aspirations of the short but lived life of his daughter , Abisola Abiodun Akinyemi is to commemorate her posthumous birthdays who in her lifetime lived a life that was challenging to her parents and to those who are vulnerable and behaviorially challenged’, he noted .

Penpushing also reports that he also told the inmates not to be discourage about making it in life but see it as training, recalling that he was once in their shoes, having being blind at two years, and rose to pinnacle of his carrier in life

The Controller of the Bostal Home, Mrs. Ozuzuma Collette in her remarks reiterated the vision and inspiration that gave birth to what they are doing, emphasizing that  the institution is committed to raising  the children and returning them back to the society as better citizen.

Penpushing reports that a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) Mrs Christiana Deke while speaking admonished the children to be of good behavior and courageous, stressing that there is a place God has destined for them.

The board member addressing the inmates, as a mother emphasised on the children how they will surely get to their respective destination in life is they show commitment to doing good things, and equally prayed and blessed them.

Penpushing further reports that another member of the trustees, Ojugba Benson encouraged the children to remained focus towards better life, explaining that the foundation aims and objectives are to make life better for them as well.

The veteran journalist and member of the board, Gbenga Gbesan in his own remarks reiterated the motive behind the foundation’s mission and the purpose of the outreach to the children, adding that the organization is committed to welfare of the vulnerable and physically challenged children
