10 die, 6 injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash
A lone accident involving a commercial bus with number plate TRK 135 ZY which occurred on Tuesday in the Oyo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed ten lives and six others sustaining vary degree of injury
Penpushing reports that, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Oyo State Command, Commander Joshua Adekanye made this known, adding that the crash occurred around Guru Mahajji area of the expressway at about 6.30am.
The Sector Commander said, the commercial bus was travelling overnight from Malumfashi, Kastiina State, when it suddenly encountered a truck carrying a container that was driving against traffic, and while trying to avoid the truck, the bus hit the container and fell into a ditch.
Penpushing further reports that, Adekanye said the truck driver took to his heels immediately after the crash, disclosing that a total of 17 male adults and a male child were involved in the accident, and also affirmed that 10 male adults were killed.
The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) boss explained that, six people were injured adding that as at the time of filing this report, the injured including five male adults and one male child were being taken to Ibadan Central Hospital.
Penpushing also reports that, Adekanye said two adult males were unhurt, while the corpses were deposited at the Adeoyo Hospital morgue in Ibadan, adding that the police division at the tollgate area of Ibadan has taken charge of the crashed vehicle.
