Yoruba will continue to be in slavery if fails to speaks with one voice – Yoruba World Assembly

The Chief convener and Secretary-General of World Assembly, Comrade Victor Taiwo has disclosed that Yoruba race will continue to be in slavery if Yoruba groups and their leaders failed to speak with one voice to fight for the same course
Penpushing reports that Taiwo, while speaking during the maiden press conference announcing the berth of a new conglomerate of Yoruba self-determination group known as Yoruba World Assembly, held at Press Center, Iyaganku, Ibadan pointed out that the emergence of the new group was a reaction to the failure of the previous attempt for the emancipation and security of Yoruba land
The convener noted that failure of prominent Yoruba groups was what led to the birth of a new conglomerate of self-determination canopy for Yoruba race ‘Yoruba World Assembly,pointing out that the purpose of floating the new group was to bring all Yoruba groups to the project of Yoruba nation.
Penpushing further reports that he added that it is to ensure the unity of Yoruba worldwide, to enhance peace and security in Yoruba land, and to resist any attempt of domination or assault from any imposing ethnic group in the country, among others
The Secretary General stated that, looking at the state of helplessness Yoruba has found themselves now, there is disunity and lack of coordination among various organizations and their leaders
“Nigeria is witnessing a lot of challenges of security of lives and properties, so, there is a need for the convergence of all progressive and good intentioned groups for the united and central coordination under a credible leadership’
Penpushing also reports that he however noted that the board of trustee of the group is made up of leaders drawn from each of the 17 sub-ethnic groups in Yoruba land, and the governing council of the group includes the chairman, Elder Taye Ayorinde, Secretary-General, Comrade. Victor Taiwo, Director of Media and Publicity and Public Relations, Mr. Kemi Olaitan, and Director, Finance, Treasury and Accounting, Mr. Bolarinwa Babayomi to mention few
The convener explained that the Governing Council of the group will be inaugurated within five days adding that any group willing to joined must belong to an organization
Penpushing further reports that the interim chairman of the group, Elder Taye Ayorinde, in his remark stated that Yoruba are one of the bravest and most intelligent people in the world, but lack coordination, adding that Yoruba sons and daughters in home and Diaspora are looking for someone to liberate them
Yoruba is not build around any association, and we are no more be under any body, we don’t want to be part of retrogressive government, what concerns us is the need for Yoruba development, progress and upliftment
